Generation Dead formed in early 2021 in the basement of vocalist and guitarist Chris Cyr’s home on the outskirts of the New Haven area. Chris began writing what would soon become the bands first and self produced album “The American Dream”. Inspired by a variety of punk bands at the time Sean Attanasio was added on drums to hold down the rhythms of the fast paced tracks. Then shortly after Collin Scanlon joined on bass after a brief hiatus from playing with Chris the few years before. On the hunt for a lead guitarist Ryan Wheeler —a long time friend and guitar cohort to Chris and Collin— came out of the woodworks and joined the band in April of 2021. The band has since released a four track EP called “Paper Trail” in which they kept up the fast tempos but looked to add a bit more consistency and thought into songwriting. The band toured the first two projects very hard for about a year straight, not taking on any breaks until recent. They are now looking to grow as musicians and are currently writing for an upcoming project which has yet to be disclosed.
